Tim Flock
Tim Flock was born on May 11, 1924. He was born into a family of race drivers which his brothers Bob and Fonty and his sister Ethel were also racers. Tim started his career in racing in 1949. Tim would win his first race in 1950 at Charlotte Speedway. He would later go on and take the 1952 and 1955 Grand National Championships. Which in 1955 he captured that championship at the Occoneechee/Orange Speedway. His final win would come at Road America in 1956. He would finish his career with 40 total wins. He finished his career in racing at the 1961 World 600 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. His final stats at Occoneechee/Orange Speedway were two wins. Tim Flock died on March 31, 1998 at the age of 73. |
