The Historic Speedway Group will meet on the 2nd TUESDAY of the month. That is a change from Monday to Tuesday. The next meeting will be TUESDAY March 10. We will still meet at the Efland Ruritan Club at the corner of Forrest and Hwy 70 By-Pass. We encourage ALL members to attend when they can. An exciting event is in the planning stages and your help is needed! If you can't attend meetings but could help us sell an ad or two for the yearbook - that would be great! If you have an idea for a story, pictures, etc. we could use in the yearbook, please send us an email or contact Sue Weiss, LaVerne Zachary or Lonnie Holt at: mailto:[email protected]
The February meeting will be on Monday, February 9th at the Ruritan Club in Efland at 7:00 PM.
We are starting our plans for the 2015 annual event to be held on September 26. If you are currently a member, we need you to attend the meetings...if you are not a member yet and would like to become a member, please come. The Orange County Historical Museum in downtown Hillsborough will be open next Sunday, September 28, from 9 AM - 10 AM for anyone in Hillsborough for the 8th Annual"Celebration of the Automobile Racers Reunion and Car Show". It is FREE, so if you plan to be at the Old Timers Luncheon Sunday - start your day with a visit to the museum. The second floor of the museum is devoted to Occoneechee Speedway.

Come see the #99 at the 8th Annual Celebration of the Automobile Racers Reunion and Classic Car Show, September 26 and 27 in Hillsborough.
The Grass Cats will perform on Friday night at The Big Barn beginning at 6 PM. Registration of classic cars begins Saturday at 7 AM. The Historic Speedway Group, along with Orange County Historical Museum, hosted a "Stores and Stories" event on Sunday at The Big Barn in Hillsborough.
